Who We Are &
What We Believe

Who We Are
Gospel Centered. Reformed. Covenantal.
Scripture
We believe the Holy Scriptures are the only sufficient, certain, and infallible standard of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience. We believe the Holy Scriptures are God’s very words spoken through man as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:19-20; Ephesians 2:20)
Godhead
God is self-existent and infinite in power. He alone has immortality is unchangeable, eternal and absolutely holy. He overflows with goodness and truth, forgiving sin and rewards those who diligently seek him. There is one God who exists eternally in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These three are distinguished by several distinctive characteristics and personal relations. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
Salvation
We believe that Salvation is the free gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins (Ephesians 2:8–10, John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:18–19).
Nicene Creed
To merely say we believe the Bible may be unhelpful because many people say they believe the Bible. It is important for us to say what we think the Bible is saying. This is where creeds can be useful. Redeeming Grace members affirm the truths taught in the Nicene Creed. (Please Refer to the Appendix for the Nicene Creed)
The Person andWork of the Father
The Father is not derived from anyone, neither begotten nor proceeding. The Father sends the Son and the Holy Spirit into the world. (1 John 4:14; Psalm 104:30)
The Person and Work of Jesus Christ the Son
The Son is eternally begotten of the Father. He is begotten not made. He is infinite and without beginning and is God. It is through the Son that the Father made the heavens and the earth. All things came into being by Jesus, the Son, and without the Son was nothing made that was made. It is through the Son that the Father redeemed the world by the shedding of Christ’s blood. (John 1:1-2; 14, Colossians 1:16; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Isaiah 53:5; 1 Peter 2:24)
The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the eternal third person of the Godhead, who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; He is our promised Helper, sent by the Father to teach all believers everything that Jesus teaches; He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of glorification (John 14:26; John 16:8–11; 2 Corinthians 3:6; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 5:18).
Baptism
Baptism is an ordinance of the New Testament, ordained by Jesus Christ. To those baptized it is a sign of their fellowship with him in his death and resurrection, of their being grafted into him, of remission of sins, and of submitting themselves to God through Jesus Christ to live and walk in newness of life. (Romans 6:3-5; Colossians 2:12; Galatians 3:27; Mark 1:4; Acts 22:16)
Mankind
God created mankind in his own image. He made them male and female. They were endowed with knowledge, righteousness and holiness. Even so, they could still sin because they were left to the liberty of their own will, which was subject to change. Adam, the first human, sinned and death and sin came into the world and spread to all humans. As a result man is unable to remedy his lost condition. (Genesis 1:26-28; 3:17-19; Psalm 53:2-3; Romans 3:10-12)
The Church
All people throughout the world who profess the faith of the gospel and obedience to God through Christ in keeping with the gospel are called visible saints. The true church is comprised of all believers throughout the world whom the Father has called to his Son. (Romans 1:7; Ephesians 1:20-23; John 6:37, 44)
Lord’s Supper
The supper of the Lord Jesus was instituted by Him. It is to be observed in his churches to the end of the age as a perpetual remembrance and display of the sacrifice of himself in his death. It is given for the confirmation of the faith of believers in all the benefits of Christ’s death, their spiritual nourishment and growth in him. The supper is to be a bond and pledge of their communion with Christ and each other. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 1 Corinthians 10:16, 17, 21)
Last Things
God has appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by Jesus Christ, to whom all power and judgment is given by the Father. All people who have lived on the earth will appear before the judgment seat of Christ to give an account of their thoughts, words, and deeds and to receive a reckoning according to what they have done in the body, whether good or evil. (Acts 17:31; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Ecclesiastes 12:14; Matthew 12:36; Romans 14:10-12)
Marriage
Marriage is between one man and one woman. Marriage was ordained for the mutual help of husband and wife, for the increase of humanity and for the prevention of immorality. Christians are to marry in the Lord and should not marry unbelievers. (Genesis 2:18, 24; Malachi 2:15; Matthew 19:5, 6; 1 Corinthians 7:2, 9, 39)
Gender
God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct genders together reflect the image and nature of God. Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person. God created mankind in His image: male and female. Consequently, we must affirm their biological sex and refrain from any attempts to physically change or alter their biological sex. (Genesis 1:26-28; Romans 1:26-32; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).
Sanctity of Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and created by God in His image. Human life is of inestimable worth in all its dimensions, including pre-born babies, the aged, the physically or mentally challenged, and every other stage or condition from conception through natural death. (Psalm 139).
